Northwood, Ohio – January 15, 2024 — Telesystem, a leading provider of nationwide cybersecurity, networking, and communication solutions, announced today that the NBA’s former 1986 Slam Dunk Champion, Spud Webb will appear at their trade show booth during the upcoming Channel Partners Las Vegas event on March 12th and 13th. In addition to the booth appearance, Webb will take part in a private keynote and meet-and-greet event with select customers and partners at the conference.
Webb, a former 4th-round draft pick by the Detroit Pistons in 1985, went on to have a 14-year career in the NBA, most notably with the Atlanta Hawks and the Sacramento Kings. Webb, who played basketball at five feet and six inches tall, is tied for the fourth-shortest player in NBA history and is the shortest player to appear in the NBA slam dunk contest, having famously won it in 1986. Despite being cast aside by the Pistons after being drafted, through hard work and dedication to his craft, he became one of the most notable players in NBA history.
“Giving partners something other than trade show giveaways destined for the hotel trash bin is extremely important to me”, said Telesystem Chief Revenue Officer Bruce Wirt. “We don’t have the name recognition of some of our large competitors, so we try to give partners great reasons to stop by and take a look into our value proposition. For years we accomplished that with WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart, but this year we wanted to do something fresh. Spud Webb is an engaging personality that embodies what is possible when you work hard at improving yourself every day. I believe partners will be inspired by the story he has to tell; I can’t wait!”
