Telesystem's Solution Deployed to Prepare for Future Growth and Enhance Network Redundancy
MONROE, Michigan – June 19, 2015
Telesystem welcomed customers and members of the local business community to the grand opening of their newest data center, Data Center -2 (DC-2), located in Monroe, Michigan.
The 8,150 square foot building sits on five acres and is protected on three sides by earthen mounds. The remaining side of the data center provides a loading bay and facility parking. Built to period-relevant Department of Defense building specifications, DC-2 is designed for resiliency.
Telesystem also aligned the facility with their own strict standards, making improvements to the facility including enhancements for cooling, electrical service, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) upgrades, fire suppression, environmental monitoring services, and the addition of in-line water chillers for rack cooling. The project also included the addition of a $2.5 million fiber transport to connect DC-2 to Telesystem's private network.

The event was attended by local government officials and dignitaries from the region’s business communities. Mayor Pro-tem, Jeremy Molenda and Monroe County Business Development Corporation President, Tim Lake joined John Martin in addressing guests before cutting the ribbon leading to the front door of DC-2.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests were invited to tour the facility and learn how Telesystem keeps their data centers running optimally. Tours were concluded with a continental breakfast and remarks by Don Everts, ceremony emcee and Telesystem Director of Project Management Office and Data Centers. Don concluded the event, thanking everyone that made it possible for Telesystem to join the Monroe community including current and future customers, members of the Monroe and Frenchtown Governments, The Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Monroe County Business Development Corporation, and Telesystem’s employees. He concluded, “We’re proud of this facility and to be a part of your neighborhood.”
